Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Cali., and educators participated in roundtable event to discuss education issues facing South Carolina on April 30, 2019. The event was held at Brookland Baptist Church in West Columbia before a crowd of about 75 people. This was Harris’ fifth visit to the state since announcing her candidacy for president.
The panel included: Rania Jamison, Working Hero South Carolina State Director; teacher Kelly Cooper Gregory; Dr. Traci Young-Cooper, Director of Richland County School District One’s Office of Extended Day Programs; Melissa Watson, South Carolina Co-Chair and Lowcountry Teacher.
